Springer Controls has partnered with Entek Electric Co. Ltd. to offer their line of UL489 approved circuit breakers. Entek Electric was established in 1980 and is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of low voltage circuit breakers. Entek is currently offering UL489 breakers in 1, 2 3 pole configurations, for 6A, 10A, 16A, 20A, 25A, 32A, 40A, 50A, and 63A. All are available with either B or C trip curves.

Single pole units are rated for 230VAC, and the 2, and 3 pole units are rated for both 230VAC and 400VAC. They are also rated for operation in temperatures from -5 °to +55°C (23° to 131° F)

The breakers come with contact position indication so you can visually see whether the breakers is engaged or not. Full compliance with UL489 and IEC 60898-1 ensures the highest levels of safety.

UL489 breakers are designed with multiple trip protections to offer full branch circuit protection. The first protection is from overload, if the system starts pulling more current than the rated capacity of the breaker. This is typically used for protecting motors, electronics or data centers from overloads / overheating. They also have a magnetic element which will trip quickly when there is an excessive surge of current like a short circuit.

The trip curves determine how quickly the breaker will trip once the current limit has been exceeded. C curves are the most commonly stocked an used.
